Christmas - Hanging of the Greens:

For ancient Romans, evergreen boughs were an emblem of peace and joy. Early Christians placed them in the windows of their home to symbolize Christ’s presence. As Christians, the evergreens remind us of the everlasting life that is ours through Jesus Christ. As Advent transitions to the feast of Christmas, we gather and decorate the sanctuary with evergreen boughs to begin the celebration. We invite all members of the community to participate in this festive Christmas tradition.
